OUR STORY

The History of Andreozzi + Foote

After practicing law at a respected Philadelphia law firm for several years, founding partner Ben Andreozzi decided he needed a change. He felt unfulfilled by his work representing insurance companies and businesses—he wanted to advocate for people, not organizations. So, in 2006, Ben took a leap of faith and started his own firm.

Purpose

Two years later, Ben’s purpose and the firm’s mission became clear. A former private school student came to Ben and disclosed that a volunteer at the school had sexually abused him. The victim had consulted with other civil attorneys, but each one eventually gave up, fearing the legal challenges the case posed.

After hearing the young man’s story, Ben knew he had to find a path to justice. He worked tirelessly to develop creative strategies for navigating the legal problems that caused other firms to drop the case. He also found other victims of the same perpetrator who courageously came forward. After a tough legal battle, Ben achieved favorable resolutions for the young man and many others abused by that perpetrator.

What happened after the case was resolved was powerful. While the settlement did not erase the pain of the abuse, Ben watched as the clients used the settlement money on resources to help better their lives, putting themselves on a path to recovery. Ben stayed in touch with many of those clients personally for years after, realizing he had found his calling in life.

Growth

Ben realized that if the firm wanted to expand into the complex legal field of sexual abuse, he couldn’t do it alone. While representing victims in claims against Penn State University, Ben found an eager and competent law student—Nathaniel Foote—to help. Nate came from a long line of attorneys, but he knew he wanted to do something different from his predecessors—he wanted to represent real people with real problems.

Nate’s first client meeting was with the family of a devastated crime victim, and he was struck by their strength in the face of tragedy. He saw people who deserved help. Since that meeting, Nate has worked with Ben to advocate for crime victims in the courts, the media, and the legislature. Nate, Ben, and the entire team at Andreozzi + Foote are dedicated to achieving life-changing results for victims and their families while providing the emotional support they need via an on-site victim advocate.

Success

Ben and Nate’s partnership attracted more great people. The firm is now a leading sexual abuse law firm in Pennsylvania and the United States, and our results speak for themselves. The firm received a jury verdict of $88 million for a single sexual abuse survivor, setting a Pennsylvania record.

At Andreozzi + Foote, we understand that the most important role of a lawyer is to listen to the client and create a path toward recovery specifically designed for that individual survivor. This usually means reaching a full and fair settlement before trial. It is a delicate balance to press a case for the best resolution while not interfering with a survivor’s recovery, and the firm prides itself on its careful navigation of this tightrope. It takes a true mastery of the law and the nature of trauma to reach the best possible outcome for every survivor.

Our Firm's Mission

Andreozzi + Foote is one of the nation’s leading law firms representing survivors of sexual abuse. We focus our practice entirely on providing victims of sexual abuse, allowing us to deliver the best possible service and achieve outstanding results for survivors. In every case we take, we center our core values: trust, respect, honesty, and a commitment to healing.

Our attorneys take a personalized, client-centered approach to every case, listening to survivors and finding creative ways to obtain justice, even if there is no legal path forward. We treat each survivor with the dignity and respect they deserve and give them our full attention, working together to build customized case strategies that align with each survivor’s definition of justice.

Our Approach

Our hands-on approach taught us that every client has unique circumstances and different ideas of justice. Because we take the time to listen to every client to truly get to know them and understand their wants and needs, we can create a case strategy that helps them move toward healing. When we meet with our clients, we are fully open with them, giving them a realistic view of their options and honest guidance on how to move forward.

In sexual abuse cases, trust is paramount. One of the reasons survivors hesitate to come forward is that they’ve already had their trust significantly violated. Because we understand trauma and the circumstances around sexual abuse cases and survivors, our firm will never lead a client to believe we can achieve something we cannot.

We Fight for You

Andreozzi + Foote is committed to a holistic approach that gives survivors the legal resources and healing tools they need to better their lives. We measure success by the overall legal and emotional outcomes of the survivors we represent. We fight as hard as possible in every case, keeping our clients informed and empowered every step of the way.

At Andreozzi + Foote, we are willing to learn from survivors and constantly evolve our practices to better understand trauma and its impact on our clients and their cases. We are dedicated to supporting our clients’ recovery. When appropriate, we connect them with programs, advocates, and therapists to further their healing journey.
