Summary of Sexual Abuse allegations against Father Daniel C. Maio:
In 2010, Father Daniel Maio had a civil suit filed against him for abusing a 15-year-old child between 1968 and 1969 while he was serving as youth director for the Pueblo Diocese. The plaintiff claimed that Father Maio gave the boy and other youths marijuana and played strip poker with them. A second suit was filed in 2010, alleging similar misconduct by Maio. Both suits were settled in 2011.
One of Maio’s victims claims he was sexually abused at a cabin owned by then-Bishop Charles Buswell.
Father Maio was ordained in 1966. He died in 2006.
