Pennsylvania Field Hockey Coach Charged With Sexual Assault Of A Minor

It is reported that the 77-year-old William F. Gaudette of Humelstown, Pennsylvania sexually assaulted the child from June 2020 until July 2021 in South Hanover Township. The juvenile was thirteen to fourteen years old at the time of the ongoing assaults.

The victim reportedly told police that Gaudette touched her genitals over and under her clothing and raped her approximately twice a week.  It is further reported that the 77-year-old William F. Gaudette threatened the victim with deportation if she reported the abuse, and that her mother would not be able to immigrate to the United States.

According to local news reports, Gaudette served as a field hockey coach in Central Pennsylvania for many years.  Specifically, Gaudette’s social media accounts on LinkedIn and Facebook show that Gaudette was the founder, coaching director, and field hockey coach for East Coast Field Hockey Club in Central Pennsylvania from March, 1982 through the present, over the span of 39 years, and as a coach with the International Hockey Federation from August, 2005 through the present.

Gaudette appears to have thousands of connections on social media.

Court documents show that Gaudette has been charged in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania with the felonies of statutory sexual assault of a person 11 years of age or older, aggravated indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age, unlawful contact with a minor for sexual offenses, corruption of minors, and witness and victim intimidation, and the misdemeanor of indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age.

As of October 18, 2021, although an arrest warrant has been issued, Gaudette’s whereabouts are unknown and the search for Gaudette is ongoing. The Pennsylvania State Police has asked that if anyone has information on Gaudette’s whereabouts or wants to report an incident involving Gaudette to call (717) 671-7500.
