Daniel Janke, 54, a Mankato high school art teacher at New Ulm Public Schools in Minnesota, is facing one count of distribution of child pornography and three counts of receipt of child pornography. Janke uses messaging apps like Kik to send and receive CSAM images.
There were similar allegations against Janke in 2006, where he was cleared and maintained employment after two New Ulm Middle School girls started receiving sexual emails from a person claiming to be a district teacher; they filed a report with the school.
The district accused Janke, an elementary teacher and varsity golf coach at the time of sending the emails, on academic leave while police investigated. He was cleared and returned to his position.
Teachers hold a position of authority and influence that serves to support and protect. However, when this power leads to exploiting children, it often leads to a deep mistrust of authority figures. While no victims have come forward yet, there is a strong connection between CSAM and abuse.
If Daniel Janke had impacted you, you are not alone.
Can a Civil Lawsuit Help Victims Seek Justice for the Trauma They May Have Experienced By Daniel Janke?
Victims who appear in child sexual abuse material (CSAM) face a unique and profoundly distressing violation of their privacy and dignity. Seeking justice in these cases can be a complex and emotionally challenging process. However, it is possible with the proper support and legal resources. Victims can file civil lawsuits, which can help address the financial and emotional damages caused by the abuse. Through these efforts, victims can reclaim their power and seek the justice they deserve.
Can I File A Lawsuit Against the School?
Yes. You might have rights if you were a victim of Daniel Janke if the school district knew about his conduct and failed to act.
