Summary of Sexual Abuse allegations against Father George V. Brendamann:
Father George V. Brendemann, a onetime executive for the Boy Scouts of America, sexually abused at least 15 boys before becoming a priest, and at least eight after. In 1988, Father Brendemann was arrested and successfully prosecuted for sexually abusing boys between the ages of 10 and 14-years-old.
The Diocese of Pheonix knew of past allegations prior to Father George’s ordination. The Diocese admitted there were several letters in Bredemann’s file recommending he not become a priest. Nuns at St. Teresa’s Parish also recommended Bredemann not be ordained.
Father George V. Brendemann, however, was ordained in 1983. He died in prison in 2012.
