In 1997, Father Gourley Marshall, a Theatine Order priest, was accused of sexual abuse in a civil lawsuit, which alleged he abused a teenager in the early 1980s. He was placed on leave in 1997 by the Archdiocese of Denver. The civil was dismissed in 1998 due to statue of limitations. The victim appealed, but the case was finally dismissed in 1999. In 2002, Father Gourley left ministry.
Father Gourley was ordained in 1982.
