Father Melvin F. Thompson was removed as Vicar at St. Thomas More in Denver in 2010 after allegations of sexual misconduct with a boy in the 1970s. Father Thompson denied all the allegations of the sexual misconduct. He was sent to treatment for alcohol abuse. The review board found the allegations not supported by evidence. Father Thompson reinstated in 2011 and then retired.
Father Thompson was ordained in 1967.
