Summary of Sexual Abuse allegations against Father Richard James Kurtz:
Kurtz was removed by the Jesuits from his teaching position at University of Detroit Jesuit High School in April 2001 after accusations emerged that he had recently sexually assaulted a boy during a visit to Denver, Colorado. An FBI investigation in 2011 yielded the discovery of child pornography among Kurtz’ possessions. Kurtz was arrested in Missouri in September 2014 for the production, transportation, and possession of child pornography. He pled guilty in February 2015.
Father Kurtz was ordained in 1977.
