Summary of Sexual Abuse allegations against Father Gerard Sudol:
Father Gerard J. Sudol was accused of sexually abusing multiple minor boys in the 1980’s and 1990’s. Sudol was named in a civil lawsuit that settled against the Archdiocese of Newark for $1.9 million in 2004. Sudol was acquitted after a canonical trial in 2017 and was allowed to return to work. He stepped down in 2018 after the church announced it would be investigating new allegations against him. Sudol has been permanently removed from ministry.
Father Sudol was ordained in 1980.
