Father John P. Bernard was accused of sexually abusing a minor for five years (1972-77). Bernard was named in a class action lawsuit that settled in 2003. Two other civil suits against Bernard were settled for a total of $50,000 in 1993. Father Bernard left the parish ministry in 1997 to be military chaplain. He retired in 1992 and was permanently removed from ministry.
Father Bernard was ordained in 1962.
