Summary of Sexual Abuse allegations against Monsignor Phillip T. Rigney:
Monsignor Phillip T. Rigney, who was the Director of Vocations, was accused of the continuous inflow of child molesters into the Camden diocese. Rigney was also accused of sexually abusing at least three minors during his time in ministry. Rigney was named in three civil suits, including the 1994 class action lawsuit which settled in 2003. Rigney left the Camden Diocese and went to Florida, where he continued to give mass until 2002 although his permission to service mass was revoked in 1994. In 2002, Rigney was suspended from ministry until his death in 2005.
Father Rigney was ordained in 1949 and is deceased.
