Father Thomas Stanford was accused of sexually abusing a teenage boy in 1977, before he was ordained. A civil suit against Stanford settled in 2008. Stanford left the priesthood in the mid-1980’s and was working as a lay employee at the Diocese of Paterson. After the settlement in 2008, Stanford was fired. Stanford has been permanently removed from ministry.
Father Stanford was ordained in 1979.
